Becoming Friends
 

My artistic focus lies in exploring the male body and its diverse expressions, conveyed primarily through photography and mixed media. In Becoming Friends, my central interest is how the male form can transform into something elastic, sensual, yet deeply intimate and private. We are accustomed to standardized postures that signal sexuality, but the human body and by extension, the mind and spirit, is far more flexible, intriguing, and liberated. I aim to explore how we view ourselves, express our desires, and engage with our own sexuality in ways that evoke mystery, vulnerability, and surprise. Therefore, every encounter with a model carries an element of developing friendship, a bond of mutual respect and authenticity that I actively cultivate.
 

This creative process is deeply collaborative, non-linear, and anchored in trust. Working with my subjects involves a slow, deliberate building of intimacy. I strive to build erotic tension gradually, seeking a distinct elegance where desire is elevated into sculptural form and uninhibited sexual liberation is celebrated as inherently beautiful. Given the volume and ongoing nature of the work, the pieces rely on a cataloged numbering system rather than individual titles, emphasizing each photograph as a singular step within a continuous development.
 

Ultimately, Becoming Friends serves as both a reflective self-portrait and a release of historically silenced thoughts. For me, creation does not begin or end in the studio; it is an ongoing practice of living, observing, and connecting, where passion, curiosity, and human connection continuously feed into one another to form the foundation of visual storytelling.
